2004 will be remembered as the year of Usher as he takes home the #1 song of the year with “Yeah!” He also scored 2 top 5 hits on the year-end chart and 4 songs in the top 40. His 27 weeks on the top 20 easily outdistanced runner-up Kelly Clarkson’s “Breakaway” which had 21 weeks on the chart. Who appeared the most on the top 100? The answer is the ubiquitous R. Kelly, who had 6 songs on the chart. 2 were his own, and 4 others were collaborations. Now onto some year end awards:

Male Artist of the Year: Usher
Female Artist of the Year: Britney Spears
Artist with most Weeks at #1: Usher (11)
Artist with most weeks on top 20: Usher (69)
